Welcome to Rekobo ("we," "our," or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Rekobo platform,
including our website, mobile app, and related services (collectively, the "Platform").
By creating an account, listing an item, making a purchase, or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Rekobo.
1. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to use Rekobo.
- By registering, you confirm that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
- We may require identity verification through Smile Identity before you can fully use our services.
2. Accounts
- You must provide accurate and up-to-date information when creating an account.
- You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials.
- You may not share your account or impersonate another user.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts suspected of fraud, illegal activity, or violation of these Terms.
3. Listings & Transactions
- Sellers may list items that are legal, accurately described, and not prohibited (see Section 8).
- Buyers are responsible for reviewing item details before purchase.
- Rekobo is a platform provider and is not the buyer or seller of listed items.
- All transactions are processed through Paystack escrow for buyer and seller protection.
4. Escrow & Payments
- Payments are processed securely by Paystack.
- Funds are held in escrow until:
- Buyer confirms receipt, OR
- Transaction is auto-confirmed after a set period.
- Rekobo may deduct service fees before releasing funds.
- Refunds are subject to escrow rules, Paystack policies, and Rekobo's dispute process.
5. Fees
- Rekobo may charge service, listing, or transaction fees.
- Fees will be displayed at checkout or before listing confirmation.
- Fees are non-refundable unless required by law.
6. Identity Verification & Security
- Users may be required to verify their identity (NIN, BVN, passport, driver's license, voter card, selfie).
- Smile Identity handles verification securely.
- Rekobo uses device fingerprinting and other fraud-prevention tools to protect the community.
- Refusal to complete verification may limit access to features.
7. User Responsibilities
By using Rekobo, you agree to:
- Provide truthful and accurate information.
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Only list items you legally own and have the right to sell.
- Respect other users and avoid harassment, abuse, or scams.
8. Prohibited Items & Activities
You may not use Rekobo for:
- Illegal, stolen, counterfeit, or dangerous goods.
- Weapons, drugs, human/animal trafficking, pornography, or other restricted categories.
- Money laundering, fraud, or financing of unlawful activities.
- Circumventing escrow, payment systems, or Rekobo's policies.
We reserve the right to remove prohibited listings and suspend offending accounts.
9. Disputes & Resolution
- Buyers and sellers must attempt to resolve disputes through Rekobo's in-app dispute system.
- If unresolved, Rekobo may mediate but does not guarantee outcomes.
- Escrow refunds will be processed according to evidence provided and Rekobo's decision.
- Rekobo's decision in disputes is final and binding.
10. Intellectual Property
- Rekobo owns all rights to its Platform (logos, software, content, branding).
- Users retain rights to content they upload (e.g., images, descriptions) but grant Rekobo a non-exclusive license to display it on the Platform.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you:
- Violate these Terms.
- Engage in fraud, illegal activity, or harm the Platform.
- Fail to comply with KYC/verification requirements.
You may delete your account at any time, subject to outstanding transactions.
12. Limitation of Liability
- Rekobo provides the Platform "as is" and makes no warranties about uninterrupted or error-free use.
- Rekobo is not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, or delivery of items sold by users.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rekobo's liability is limited to the service fees paid by you in the last 6 months.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Rekobo harmless against claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Platform, violation of laws, or breach of these Terms.
14. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
- These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
- Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Abuja, Nigeria (unless otherwise required by law).
15. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Updates will be posted with a "Last Updated" date.
Continued use of Rekobo means you accept the updated Terms.
