Platform: Rekobo ("Rekobo," "we," "our," "us")
Merchant: The individual or business registering to sell on Rekobo ("Merchant," "you," "your").
1. Introduction
This Merchant Agreement ("Agreement") sets forth the terms and conditions under which Merchants may list, promote, and sell products on the Rekobo platform. By registering as a Merchant, you agree to comply with these terms, our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and other applicable policies.
2. Eligibility
To qualify as a Merchant on Rekobo, you must:
- • Be at least 18 years old.
- • Provide accurate and complete information during registration.
- • Undergo identity verification (e.g., NIN, BVN, government ID, or selfie verification via Smile ID).
- • Have the legal right to sell the products you list.
3. Listing & Selling Products
- •Merchants may only list items that comply with Rekobo's Prohibited Items Policy (e.g., no illegal, counterfeit, or dangerous goods).
- •All listings must be accurate, including price, condition, description, and images.
- •Rekobo reserves the right to remove or suspend listings that violate our policies or appear fraudulent.
4. Payment & Escrow
- •Rekobo uses Paystack-powered escrow to ensure secure transactions.
- •Buyers pay through the Rekobo platform, and funds are held in escrow until the buyer confirms receipt of goods or the return period expires.
- •Once confirmed, payment (minus Rekobo fees) will be released to the Merchant.
- •Payout timelines may vary depending on payment processing rules and bank settlement.
5. Fees & Charges
- •Rekobo charges a transaction fee on each successful sale.
- •Any additional service fees (e.g., premium listings, promotions) will be disclosed before use.
- •Fees are automatically deducted before payout.
6. Merchant Responsibilities
You agree to:
- •Fulfill all confirmed orders promptly and in good faith.
- •Ensure products are genuine, safe, and as described.
- •Provide customer support for issues related to your listings.
- •Comply with all applicable laws, including consumer protection and tax laws.
7. Returns & Disputes
- •Rekobo provides a dispute resolution system for buyers and sellers.
- •If a buyer claims an item is "not as described," Rekobo may hold funds in escrow until the issue is resolved.
- •In cases of fraud, Rekobo reserves the right to refund the buyer and recover funds from the Merchant.
8. Prohibited Conduct
Merchants may not:
- •Engage in fraud, misrepresentation, or sale of counterfeit goods.
- •Circumvent Rekobo's payment system.
- •Collect payments outside the platform.
- •Manipulate reviews or ratings.
- •Engage in abusive or unlawful activity.
9. Suspension & Termination
Rekobo may suspend, limit, or terminate your Merchant account if:
- •You violate this Agreement or our policies.
- •You engage in fraudulent, illegal, or harmful activity.
- •You fail to meet performance or customer service standards.
10. Liability & Indemnity
- •Rekobo is a platform provider and is not the seller of goods.
- •Merchants are solely responsible for their products, listings, and obligations to buyers.
- •You agree to indemnify and hold Rekobo harmless from claims, damages, or liabilities arising from your activities on the platform.
11. Intellectual Property
- •Merchants must respect third-party intellectual property rights.
- •Rekobo may remove listings that infringe IP rights.
- •By listing products, you grant Rekobo a license to display your product images and descriptions for promotional purposes.
12. Amendments
Rekobo may update this Agreement from time to time. Changes will be communicated, and continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
- •This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
- •Disputes will first be handled through Rekobo's internal dispute system.
- •If unresolved, disputes shall be referred to arbitration in [Lagos/Abuja], in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
By registering as a Merchant on Rekobo, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Merchant Agreement.
